In 2012, Costanzo Ranci has edited a comprehensive book that made a point about independent work in Italy, entitled “Partite IVA. Il lavoro autonomo nella crisi italiana“. With my colleague Roberta Cucca, we were in charge of discussing the changing trends among professionals in Italy, with a chapter entitled “Come cambiano le professioni tra vecchie regole e nuove strategie”.
In the chapter, we take as example management consultants and architects, trying to put in evidence how despite an inertial system of professions, independent professionals try to cope with the increasing precariousness and insecurity of their job by relying on new organizational strategies.
The chapter is available for free access at the Digital Document Deposit of the UAB.
