January, 18th I have invited my colleague and friend Davide Arcidiacono (Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano) for giving a seminar at the Iscola IGOP. The seminar was entitled: “Social Innovation in Agricolture and Food. The case of Italian Solidarity Purchasing Groups“. Our paper was discussed by Marc Pradel, from the department of sociology of University of Barcelona. The seminar discussed the potential role that a social innovation like solidarity purchasing groups (SPG) can have in innovating and equalizing food supply chain in Italy, testing the hypothesis if SPGs can reduce the marginalisation of small producers. Qualitative and quantitative analysis were presented from the data collection I conducted in 2015/2016 within the frame of CrESSI project.
