Wednesday June 6th, 2018 the network AGAPP from IGOP has hosted a seminar with Antonello Podda
(University of Cagliari), dealing with the analysis of social capital in rural areas. The seminar discussed the role of the European policy LAGs (Local Action Groups) in fostering social and economic participation in the most insulated and deprived areas of Europe. He demonstrated with the use of social network techniques how the current system of European public policies’ evaluation fails to appraise the effectiveness of the system to achieve a real participation from the local economic actors. His study was based on an in-depth analysis of a LAG located in Sardinia.
